I’m really excited to announce our Member of the Month for May…
John came to Top level Fitness 16 months ago. John made amazing transformation changing the way he looks but importantly changing the way he feels and the energy levels he has during the day and the self confidence he has. He is part of our 5.30 am group of amazing people who despite the fact that is so early and for some people it’s impossible to even imagine working out that early they all bring their A Game and it is absolutely pleasure to work with them. He is always first at the gym coming with a smile, working really hard and cheering and motivating the rest of the people in the group.

Now lets hear John’s story …
1. What do you do for a profession outside of Top Level Fitness?
My profession outside of Top Level Fitness is graphic design. I have worked in advertising agencies, sports marketing, and design studios for the past 25 plus years.
2. How long have you been a member of Top Level Fitness and how did you get involved?
In December 2011, my wife presented me with a Groupon certificate for Top Level Fitness. She understood that I was looking for something different for my well being and thought that this might kick start my new year. I have to admit, I was a bit anxious to attend anything that had the words “Boot Camp” associated with the title.
3. Tell us about your sports and fitness background and take us back to your first workout… what was it, and how did it feel?
I can remember my first appointment with Zack and Sean. I was quite humbling to say the least. My first work out did not go so well. The anxiety of working out with a group almost put me over the edge. I had not worked out that way since my high school athletic days. Being a small town Ohio boy, my school needed me in every sport regardless of my abilities. I excelled in football basketball and track and I never really needed to focus on exercise or weight control. During my first work out, I got a “charlie horse” in my calf and had to stop about half way through the session. How embarrassing! After a few weeks of sore muscles, my body started to adjust to using muscles that have not had a lot of action in many years. After 16 months with Top Level Fitness, I can honestly say that I am in the best shape of my adult life.
4. When did you realize that Top Level Fitness was right for you?
After joining Top Level Fitness, it took two 3-month contract cycles for me to realize that this was the best thing that I could ever do for myself with regards to my health. Sure it is substantial monetary investment, but once you put a value on your own well being, it no longer becomes a stumbling block.
5. What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting Top Level Fitness (before/after)?
Since I started with Top Level Fitness I have lost 20 plus pounds and 5 percent body fat. Today it feels strange to look at old pictures of my former self, but in the end it’s been quite an enjoyable journey, not only for me, but for my family as well. They can sense my newly found confidence, which only helps me to be a better husband and father. My energy levels help power me through the yard work, long days at work, as well as biking, fishing, and sports in the backyard with the kids.
6. What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like Top Level Fitness that were totally unexpected?
Diet, exercise, and food portions seem to be the magic trio for me. I’ve traveled down the roads with Nutri-System, and South Beach diets, but they never seem to provide a lasting overall effect for my life-style. The nutritional plans, personalized coaching and accountability that Top Level Fitness offers, has put me back in control, and that’s where I would like to stay.
7. Do you have any advice for people just getting started at Top Level Fitness?
The only advice that I can offer to someone who might be looking for a change would be… to take back your life, do something that makes you feel better both physically an mentally and enjoy the ride. I realize that everyone has their own methods for achieving such goals, but for now, I choose to exercise with all my new friends at Top Level Fitness.
