1. What do you do for a profession outside of Top Level Fitness?

I am a registered nurse. I work in the ER at Good Samaritan Hospital.

2. How long have you been a member of Top Level Fitness?

1.5 years

3. How did you get involved in Top Level Fitness?

I joined after a friend had me come to a work out as her guest. After one workout.. I knew I had to find a way to come back. Soon after that, I joined a 6 week challenge and that was it for me. I’ve been hooked ever since!

4. Tell us about your sports and fitness background?

I was a competitive gymnast growing up. I then continued as a coach through college, teaching ages 2-22, recreational through team. As an adult, I worked out at a gym, doing cardio and yoga classes.

5. Take us back to your first workout… what was it, and how did it feel?

My first workout with my friend was fun. I took rests more than I thought I would, but it was good, hard, but good. I felt an immediate welcoming vibe. My first challenge involved motrin the first week…but was also good. J

6. What is your favorite/least favorite workout exercise?

It is difficult to pick my favorite exercise. I like so many. I like the variety. My least favorites are easier to name…the ropes on tabata days and the bear walks with sliders. Yes…they are hard…but I know they are good for me!

7. What is your strongest attribute or favorite workout?

I feel my strongest attribute is my energy (most days). I feel happy when I am there and always surprised at the push I have left, from myself, and from my “encouragement” from my trainers!

8. When did you realize that Top Level Fitness was right for you?

I knew after my first day I wanted to find a way to get here and do this. But after my first challenge, it became “I have to do this”, not just want to do this.

9. What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting Top Level Fitness (before/after)?

The biggest thing I notice, is that at 41 I feel stronger than I did at 31. I have lost weight, but more noticeable is my increased muscle tone and decreased body fat. All of my clothes fit better. I feel proud. I have a desire to keep improving which is something I wasn’t feeling since competition as a young child/young adult.

10. What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like Top Level Fitness that were totally unexpected?

I am more organized with my fitness plan. I used to just grab a workout when I could. Always finding some reason not to go. Now, I plan my workout days and my activities around my workouts. I have frequently changed plans to get to the gym. I would’ve never have done that before Top Level. I value my health and my work out time, my “me time”, more than before.

11. What is your favorite healthy food & “cheat” food?

My favorite healthy food is avocado on anything (turkey, chicken, salads etc)My favorite cheat food is cheese and wine and ice cream (oops, more then one)

12. What is something that we don’t know about you? (Your hobbies, Interesting fact, accomplishment you are proud of, obscure/unique talent, funny story, etc.)

I’m pretty open and talkative, so I’m not sure if there are things you don’t know,But.. I love music, dancing, laughing, movies. I took karate for a few years, and obtained my orange belt. I am a huge sports fan, all types. I even set my work schedule around Bears and Hawks games! I come from
A sports loving family. My dad plays hockey and my mom teaching dance..Hmmm…where do I get my interests from? Ha.

13. Do you have any advice for people just getting started at Top Level Fitness?

Keep coming! Don’t give up on those days when you are sore. Moving through the pains of the first week (along with motrin..ha) is key. Before you know it, you will feel “sore” when you miss a planned workout! It’s a great group of people to work out with. Everyone pushes each other and cheers our accomplishments. Sometimes that’s just getting one work out at a time done!

Each month at Top level Fitness will be selecting a Member of the Month. This person will be selected based on a variety of criteria ranging from accountability, motivation, team spirit, results, and more… Then we schedule a time to do a video or written interview about their experience with Top Level Fitness. It’s always fun. You can get more details on how you can qualify for Member of the Month by visiting this page here<===
