I am 53 years old. I have been married 25 years. I am a mom of 4 children. I am a Cancer Survivor numerous times-Breast (twice) & Melanoma (3times). In the past 5 years my dad, sister and mom have passed away from cancer and other serious illnesses.
I joined TLF in August because I needed to do something for me. I joined the challenge because I was frustrated I hadn’t lost very much weight since I started and thought it might be what I needed.
I set a goal of losing 10 pounds and I reached that goal. I also have lost many inches and increased my strength. I am able to lift and use heavier weights than I ever thought possible.
The first two weeks of the challenge were tough on the nutrition side. Paying close attention to your meals and eating habits takes commitment. When you combine the nutrition and exercise, the program is very successful.
All the coaches and staff at TLF were very helpful and supporting when it came to questions as well as in workouts. It didn’t matter whose team you were on, they wanted you to try a little harder each time to prove to yourself you can do more.
My weight gain over the years occurred because I wasn’t caring for myself first. I don’t regret putting my family’s needs first because theirs were greater than mine at the time. It is now time for me to put myself first so I can be who I need to be for all the others in my life.
Joining TLF and participating in this challenge has come at the right time in my life. I am happy with my progress but still have more to go. I plan to continue to stay healthy, become stronger and be more confident in myself. Friends have asked what I am doing because they see a difference in me. I tell them all about TLF and the changes I have made for myself.
I am proud of myself!
