Congratulations Adriana!!

1. What do you do for a profession outside of Top Level Fitness?

I am a Physician Assistant specializing in Pediatrics and Allergy/Asthma.

2. How long have you been a member of Top Level Fitness?

I joined Top Level Fitness with my husband in October of 2011.

3. How did you get involved in Top Level Fitness?

I saw one of my FB friends “checking in” at TLF so I looked into it. Shortly after, I saw a Groupon deal for it. Ruben and I had been looking for a way to get out of our lazy slump and get back in shape… for real, this time. We bought the deal and the rest is history.

4. Tell us about your sports and fitness background?

I was never the athletic type. I was the girl who used to hate to run in PE class. You know, the one who would complain and end up walking most of the “mile run” during fitness testing. In the past, I had worked out with Tae-Bo DVDs at home off/on, joined Women’s Workout World for a few months in college, bought an eliptical machine at one point (that worked great to hang clothes to dry), and paid for memberships at big gyms that I rarely used. I enjoyed working out when I actually got off my butt to do it but I never found anything that could keep me consistent and committed. Before I got married, I worked out with a personal trainer for 6 months and loved it. It didn’t end up working out long term after my wedding and I had been looking for something like that again for a couple years. Then I found TLF 🙂

5. Take us back to your first workout… what was it, and how did it feel?

It was a Monday morning at 6:30 am. I remember feeling winded just after doing the warm up! The main thing I remember from my first day is the friendly faces. The first few people we met other than the trainers were Timoth, Theresa and Sheila. They were so welcoming and spoke highly of the program. Throughout the workout they encouraged us and kept each other motivated as well. It felt great! I knew we had found what we were looking for.

6. What is your favorite/least favorite workout exercise?

Tabata is definitely my favorite workout now. I used to love to hate it. Crazy. Now I love to hate pushing the prowler.

7. What is your strongest attribute or favorite workout?

I guess I would say that my strongest attribute is my competitive nature. I know I am not the strongest or fittest person but I am constantly trying to push myself to be better than I used to be, get stronger/more fit than I am now and keep it up. I strive to keep up with others in the gym and if I can’t get to that level, I compete against myself. For now, I’m kicking the old me’s ass!!

8. When did you realize that Top Level Fitness was right for you?

Day one. Enough said.

9. What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting Top Level Fitness (before/after)?

My body has been completely transformed. I’ve lost 24 lbs and lots of inches. I’ve also become more conscious of what I put into my body. I have found myself making healthier changes in my life in general (eating better, sleeping better, less alcohol intake).

10. What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like Top Level Fitness that were totally unexpected?

By joining TLF, I had hopes of getting fit and healthy. That was to be expected from a great fitness program. The ONE thing I did not expect is to make so many new friends! Not only are my husband and I working out and getting healthy together but our social life has been boosted as well! We have met so many great people at TLF and made lots of new friends that we enjoy hanging out with outside of the gym. Best gym perk ever!

11. What is your favorite healthy food & “cheat” food?

My new favorite healthy food is quinoa. I love to cook and enjoy finding new healthy recipes in general but I am having a lot of fun with quinoa lately. My favorite cheat food…. hard to narrow that one down. It really depends on my mood. But I do have a bad sweet tooth.

12. What is something that we don’t know about you? (Your hobbies, Interesting fact, accomplishment you are proud of, obscure/unique talent, funny story, etc.)

Hmm… something you don’t know about me. I played T-ball as a kid. Well, I was on the team at least. I don’t remember playing too much. I spent most of the time in the outfield, looking at the Cabbage Patch imprints my shoes made in the dirt. I still have never run a complete mile without stopping. Maybe I should work on that 🙂

13. Do you have any advice for people just getting started at Top Level Fitness?

DON’T GIVE UP!!! Keep coming back. You CAN do this!!!

Each month at Top level Fitness will be selecting a Member of the Month. This person will be selected based on a variety of criteria ranging from accountability, motivation, team spirit, results, and more… Then we schedule a time to do a video or written interview about their experience with Top Level Fitness. It’s always fun. You can get more details on how you can qualify for Member of the Month by visiting this page here<===
