Boot Camper Spotlight – Meet Miss Black Illinois Imani Josey

Today we have a blog post from our ROCK STAR Imani Josey. When it comes to Imani, there is more than what meets the eye. Aside from success as a beauty queen and professional cheerleader, she is a speaker, journalist, and communicator who once considered herself a “dance department nerd”. Imani has held numerous titles, and was crowned Miss Black Illinois 2012.

Check out Imani’s blog post and video below and be sure to show your support and vote for her so she can bring the crown of Miss Black USA to Illinois.  If you’re using social media please share this post…. THANKS!

Here is Imani now…

My name is Imani and I am a happy Top Level Fitness boot camper ;)! I first began attending Top Level Fitness’ Chicago boot camp in October of 2011. At the time, I was a contestant in the Miss Black Illinois USA 2012 pageant. Having competed in a few pageants (I am a former Miss Chicago and Miss Cook County in the Miss America Organization), I was encountering something in this pageant that I had never encountered before: a FITNESS section. I wanted to tone up and enhance my silhouette, and I thought Top Level Fitness was just the place for me to do this. I’ve danced my entire life (being a former Luvabull cheerleader for the Chicago Bulls) and was performing a dance routine for the Talent section. Thus, I also wanted to increase my stamina, core strength (how else do you high kick?), and flexibility. Needless to say, after attending Top Level Fitness three times a week for a few weeks, I did just that! And, on top of that, I won Miss Black Illinois! Ever since then, I have been keeping up with my workout regimen, getting my butt kicked by Kosta and Joe (thanks guys…grrrr), and I am preparing for the national Miss Black USA Pageant on August 13th in Washington, D.C. It’s been quite some time since Illinois has brought the crown home, and thanks to Top Level Fitness, hopefully I can do that for this great state!
