Get to know Cathy:

Hello! My name is Cathy Adler. I am the mom of two amazing daughters, Andrea and Claire, and three beautiful grandchildren- Jacob, Mollie and Greta Jo. I work for Waste Management as a Supervisor of the National Accounts EServices team in Lombard.

Cathy Adler 1I came to TLF in the middle of December. I work out at the 7pm session during the week and 9am on Saturdays. Honestly, I didn’t (couldn’t) finish the metabolic work-out my first night. I wasn’t going to join (humiliated by my failure) if it was not for Sean Rollins being so supportive and encouraging. Sean, Steve and Earon are truly committed to our success and are always right by our side during workouts. I appreciate that!

What is truly exceptional about TLF is the accountability factor. Sean logs into My Fitness Pal account to monitor and educate me regarding my food choices. Sean’s feedback has been invaluable to me. Since joining TLF, I have lost 20 pounds. I have energy to make it through my 10 hour work days, I feel amazing and bonus-I am increasing my strength- lifting heavier each time I train. I can actually see my triceps! Strict pull up- watch out, here I come!Cathy Adler 2

As ridiculous as this may sound, my favorite healthy food is actually water. I was a soda drinker. I thought the caffeine was giving me energy, but drinking water throughout the day has proven to provide me with more energy than soda did. My favorite cheat food is chips and guacamole. Now, I use avocado in many of my salads and meals- so I feel like I am cheating!

My accomplishment lately is to realize that I am a work in progress. I am amazed each day at what my body can do- in the gym and in life. A number on a scale or the size of my clothes does not define me. I just want to be fit, strong, and healthy (and be able to rock the skinny jeans!)

I have met so many wonderful people at TLF and love talking with them and working out beside them. It feels like family. You don’t find that at very often. Love that!

Here is a great recipe for Chicken Salad- that is actually CLEAN eating!
6 boneless skinless chicken breasts- boil in organic chicken broth, season with pepper, sea salt. Cool for about 45 minutes and cut into cubes
1 ¼ cup greek yogurt
4 tablespoons unsweetened vanilla almond milk- whisk together with greek yogurt- refrigerate for 15 minutes
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped onion
2 cups of grapes- quartered
Chopped walnuts or pecans for garnish- good fats!
Sea salt and black pepper – to taste
Fold all ingredients together and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes. Tastes even better the next day!
