The best workout is…
Guess what? There really is no “best exercise”. Fad exercise programs will always come and go, but the best thing for your body is that you consistently do some type of activity;
Get up and moving!
Don’t let yourself get hung up on finding the best gym or DVD – be a stickler for consistency instead! Think about all of the big name diets and workouts you have seen over the past decade or even just the past year, everything from diets that ask you to go low carbs, or ones that completely eliminate bread from your diet and have you eat hamburgers without the buns. Think about all the exercise routines that have come along like Zumba, Jazzercising, Tae Bo, P90x; all effective choices but many require gym memberships, are DVD only and many become so routine that they bore you to tears. There are worlds of options out there, and like life in general, there is no one answer to what is the best way to achieve your fitness goals.
What should you do then? The answer is… pick something you enjoy and stick to it. Consistancy is the best exercise!
As stated above, consistency is the key, and you shouldn’t be worried about finding the best exercise but instead focus on sticking to exercising in general whether it’s running, brisk walking, weight training in your home, or for real results in a motivating setting, sign up for boot camp workouts. Obviously the more intense the workout the sooner you’ll see results. If you’re not satisfied with the weight you’ve lost to date doing half hearted workouts, a program that offers boot camp exercises will get your heart pumping through a series of exercises that are fun and never boring.
A great first step to getting in shape is deciding what exactly “getting in shape” means to you. Do you want toned shapely arms and rock hard abs? Do you just want to lose weight and get rid of your so called “love handles” or unattractive back fat? What kind of results are you looking for and how committed are you to achieving your goals? Once you have an idea of the things you want to improve upon, do your homework and come up with a plan. This doesn’t mean that while you’re checking out your options that you don’t get up and get moving. Get out there and walk, run, do jumping jacks, buy and use some free weights; Do Something Consisantly!
A good way to decide what the best workout for you is: contact a personal trainer involved with a five star boot camp in your area (by 5 star we mean with a good reputation). More than likely they’ve been where you are and will be able to give you valuable advice on what to next. If you’re going to jump into to exercising, there really isn’t a better place to start.
The bottom line is that commitment is the name of the best workout when it comes to losing weight or getting into shape. Make sure to decide on a plan you can stick with.
